1914

Company was founded under the name of The York Caramel Company.

1941-1945


The York Caramel Co. made product for the war effort and expanded its facility.

1948


The York Caramel Co. was purchased by Standard Brands, now part of R.J..R Nabisco.

1952


An automated continuous cooking process was added.

1975


The York Caramel Co. was purchased by the Howard B. Stark Company and renamed York Candy Kitchens.

1980


Robert Lukas joined York Candy Kitchens.

1982


Mr. Lukas purchased the company and renamed it York Candies, Inc.

1989


Company name was changed to The Classic Caramel Company to reflect its area of specialization.

1991


The Classic Caramel Co. produced 25 million candy bars for the troops of Desert Storm

1992


Caramel processing capability was doubled.

1993


Laboratory facilities were expanded.

2001


Robert Lukas assumed the position of Chairman/CEO.
